Food, for many, provides comfort and is the source of fond childhood and adult memories.

We bring the kitchen to you with the common ingredient, a curated community recipe collection that is raising awareness + funds to relieve food insecurity in Central Missouri.

the common ingredient.

What started as a group of Columbia-area women connected by a shared love of cooking and a heart for serving others has become a localized online movement that uses recipes as a community builder, while raising funds for organizations serving the food insecure of Missouri.

For this project, I developed the entire website, created brand standards and the campaign’s identity, and executed the social media strategy on four of the leading online platforms. As a community curated site, I provide daily updates of recipe submissions and ‘tips from the kitchen,’ while adapting the project based on feedback and ideas from the steering committee and on my own intuition. If they dream it, I can do it.

In our launch week, the site hit over 2,500 pageviews from over 900 unique visitors and the project has been featured by KBIA and the Columbia Tribune.
